The General

The old painstaking General sat in eerie tranquility,

Thinking about the battle and questioning his ability.

Thought so the soldier, "It's for my country I'm taking all this pain,

I'll make sure it doesn't go in vain."

He would have kindly welcomed his kith or kin,

For, he just needed someone to sit by him.

There was nothing more he wanted than his country to live in peace,

Even if it meant his happy days would cease 

Let's leave the heroic man in his own solitude,

For, we should indeed admire his fortitude.
