Farmer As Sisyphus
Farmer As Sisyphus

Story of Hasari Pal
Small farmer of the
‘City of Joy’ fame
Is like the Greek myth of the
King Sisyphus.
Season after season
Year after year
He toils to
Make the ends meet.
His face, wrinkled and crinkled
Weathered by the seasons
His back bent by
The burden of his life.
Hi age by birth, forty
But looks plus fifty
By the way, he has lived life.
Two square meals, that is all
He asks for and a little more
For the education of his children.
Yet, the state is in denial
Make him ready for his funeral.
