Fairy Tale
Fairy Tale
When I was done with my sobbing,
wetting my sheets with the pain of heartbreak,
watching Emily in Paris,
Cinderella, Rapunzel,
binge stress eating,
crushing my life over nonreciprocal wrong love,
All night long.
I walked up to my grandmother and asked,
‘Do fairy tale exists in the new age of romance?’
She looked up at the sky full of twinkling stars,
Smiled and said,
‘Yes, fairy tales do exist in the new age of romance
Just like in the olden days, when knights were bold
And ladies fair would wait for their true love
To come and sweep them off their feet
In today's world, fairy tales are different
But they still exist, if you believe
That the love you have found is true
And will stand the test of time
So don't be afraid to believe in fairy tales
And the happiness they bring,
For if you do, your true love
Will surely come to you.’
