Empathy

Be a reason for somebody's smile

What it takes is no longer than a mile.

Proffer oneself to give a hand

Expect nothing and just understand.

We, as humans need to empathize

Correct, rekindle hope and not chastise.

Lending a ear and paying heed

Is perhaps the most beautiful deed.

It just takes a moment of helplessness,

....a moment of weakness

....to act with complete recklessness.

But, at the nick of time....

A simple single act of yours might just fill the crack

And embolden the other one to bounce back.
