*"Eight Years, One Goodbye"*

*"Eight Years, One Goodbye"*

He left me, saying I never understood,

Eight years we had, and he said it wasn't good.

He left for a future he wanted to secure,

For his parents' happiness, for something more.

He left for privacy, for his own space,

To enjoy his life, to find his place.

He left for his career, for his dream,

Maybe he left for another girl, it seems.

Maybe he left because I loved too much,

Because of my loyalty, my steadfast touch.

Maybe he left for my calm, for my mistake,

For the questions I asked that he couldn't take.

"Will you marry me?" I dared to ask one day,

He said, "I don't know," and then walked away.

I gave up everything, just to hold him near,

And in the end, it was me left standing here.

In younger years, we call it love,

But often it's just attraction from above.

I thought he loved me the most of all,

But now I'm left to face the fall.

Is it love, or just attraction's fire?

"All is fair in love and war," they say,

But love is blind, and it leads us astray.

He couldn't understand, and I was trapped in it.

No one truly dies for another, it's true,

In this selfish world, they think only of you.
