Diwali
Diwali
There is so much light, then why is darkness seen by my eyes?
Is it because of the absence of sunlight or the sparkling starlight?
In the course of seeing these artificial lights, my eyes search for the twinkling of the stars.
It being a clear night should have shown them with a beaming light, but the clouds of smoke resist them to shine.
Diwali, well it was supposed to be a festival of lights, but I can sense it through my eyes or every sense organ of mine, this festival has much more than just lights.
Which was once celebrated to cherish the event once held in the past is now just a game of wealth and pride.
The festival is a symbol for victory of light over darkness.
If this could light up one's mind and open up one's eyes to see the plight of natu
re at this sight.
Gunpowder, yes it wasn't seen yet could be smelt.
All of it, it was there just as a part of air.
It was in the open still it was choking and suffocating.
No, I'm not asthmatic but it gives me a feeling of being one.
Do the animals shut their ears or bare the sound?
Sounds which even human can't endure.
Well, it does have a sweeter side, sweet enough to make you diabetic overnight.
It could have been a festival of sweets as the sweetness of sweets is what we delight all night.
Amazed by the variety one may shift towards spice which is hard to find.
Time spent with those sweeter than our lives also add up to the beauty of this night.
Diwali, a festival made up of so much more than just lights.
