Diffused Fragrance
Diffused Fragrance
The April musings and the November mist
Begot the satin red hue of an ideal romanticist
In full bloom it was, with the briars as its sentinel,
The serenading lover rang the unprecedented knell
Only to announce to his lady his flattering tale.
What sight to behold, the common eye knew not –
The blush beneath her dreamy lashes or the silent moan of the petals pale?
Well, the sweet scent did waft in the air hot,
Hypnotizing the souls in this affair sought!
Into a book was the sweet rose buried
As a testament that the eternal love carried.
Years later, neither the fragrance nor the blooming red,
But the russet imprints on the pages shed
Of a flood of memories, they’re gently reminded.
The book that caught the sweet little breath
Will also close on them – a message from Death,
Gentle beginning, humble events and a blameless life,
Write their epitaph without much apparent strife.
Diffused fragrance – ‘tween man and nature
Is all that remains, with a resolute stature.
