Dance Called Life
Dance Called Life
I look at you day by day,
Every day from afar
The wind brushing against your cheeks,
Causing your hair to sway
The sunlight making your face gleam
With the cutest smile, I have ever seen.
Whilst I gather up the courage to speak
One thought crosses my mind
Is this what Hollywood speaks of
Could this be love at first sight come alive?
And then the ever paranoid mind
Conjures up thoughts as it always does
Oh what if she’s not a maiden
And has been scooped up by another lucky man,
But the heart hushes the mind and whispers
It’ll be as it’s meant to be.
Looking at you across the ferry
Moving gracefully across the peaceful sea,
Glancing into those dreamy eyes
As your finger tucks a strand behind your ear,
I wish our eyes would meet.
And suddenly, as you look up,
My heart skips a beat,
As I look into your eyes,
For what seems like an eternity,
Taking in your smile, I reciprocate with mine,
My mind racing with things to say.
As finally I decide on one,
And get up to fulfill my dreams,
Up walks a man, briefcase in hand,
Offers you his arm,
And shatters my dreams,
The heart chuckles, “It wasn’t meant to be.”
The mind hopes “It’ll be when it’s meant to be.”
