Come Back Home
Come Back Home
Your fingertips
Still tap dance
On my brain stem
Like the circus
That comes to town
From time to time
Your laugh and your smell
Long linger after your body
Evaporated into contortionist arteries,
And though I may dull my senses
With formaldehyde,
You still burn yourself
On my Inchworm ghost.
Beating lies into the void,
Since you have been gone
There is no one
Left to scratch the itch it leaves.
With every pump of my existence
So I'm left digging holes
In my skin
That will never scar.
Now at the frontier, I pay my visits,
It's my favorite residence for a vacation.
To nudge at the borders in silence.
At the horizon, lies the memories of a car ride
Of the last summer night.
Your voice in a flashback
Rings a bell of dismay,
"You were the best thing that ever happened to me."
How do I love again, my dear?
I stare at the sunsets hoping the sun would disappear,
For it was you that was brighter than fire.
I dream of engulfing in depths of another,
But wrapped around in the arms of another beautiful liar,
My insides still ache for you.
Turbulent like the oceans of blue,
That is still the thought of you.
