Chant Of A Songbird...

Chant Of A Songbird...

Description: An allegory that talks about how a songbird’s life is similar to a human’s soul.

Through the soft rustles of leaves,

By the cove of the saline sea,

In the sunlit spaces of lofty trees,

Gleamingly flew a soft melody.

Far across the forest’s shimmer,

Floated gently, an ariose tune!

For the halcyon days of summer,

Lingering along, not gone soon.

Inside the territories of the wild,

Echoed musically, sundry strains,

Surpassing time, without a rile,

It sang through glee and pain.

Soul’s a songbird, little known—

Dwells in sunny and gloomy times,

If only a harmony it could own,

Together with rhapsody, it’ll rhyme!
