As I took my heart and left,

I looked into my soul and wept,

That night, I lay awake, never slept,

Remembering how I was totally swept,

Thinking about the first time we met,

Angry that I was sad, hurt and upset,

Ashamed at the lows that had crept!

It wasn't me or it wasn't you,

in my heart maybe I knew,

this was less about you,

maybe the last few months were on cue,

reminding me, why I shouldn't be with you,

It was about my hopes, dreams and me,

It was about them breaking free!!
