Lessons Outside Class

Comics taught me morals,

Tales of struggles and all wells,

Followed by the Harry Potter spells,

Which spoke of how friendship sweeps,

Together, sending support in heaps!

Greek mythology taught me about laurels,

Success, failures, lessons in plurals,

Nothing is final, no blow is fatal,

And everyone is special!

Dancing taught me practice,

Letting go and setting free, 

Walking taught me pace,

So anything you can ace!

Meditation taught me patience,

Empowering me, in the present tense!

Drawing drew out the inner child,

Letting my imagination run wild!

As I continue,

I see, learn, fall, and rise,

As life is full of surprises,

Including a bag full of prizes!
