Bread, Clothes, and Loneliness
Bread, Clothes, and Loneliness
(Physical Things vs. True Connection)
You gave us bread and clothes, a roof above our head,
You think you've done us a huge favor instead!
Yet you never found the time to just sit by our side,
Or listen to our daily struggles with a love we tried to hide.
You don't even have a clue what’s going on inside this heart,
At what hour sleep finally comes, or what tears are apart!
Before asking about our grades, did you ever ask how we feel?
Did you see the falling star, the way our broken hearts heal?
You say—"We have given you everything under the sun,"
Yet we keep craving for a warm, loving shadow, just one!
The house is full of things, but the corner of the heart is empty,
In this blind race, every relationship feels so empty...
Just this little wish remains deep inside this heart of mine,
May someone understand our silence in this lonely time!
Give us a little bit of time, more than wealth and fame,
Look beyond the money, and truly make us your own name!
