Brave Souls

She walks with zero pride

carrying a dead soul within,

finding it hard to mend her heart

which is still beating despite being broken.

She's no less than a moving corpse

figuring out all the ways to survive,

amidst the words people threw at her

causing a lot more pain than those physical scars.

She knows how to neutralize an acid with a base,

but what about that part of her face

which still reminds her of the hell

and the fact that she's a victim of the acid attack?

She will no longer be the same as before

but what about the society which she lives in?

will it choose to stand alongside her?

or will it curse her for being born as a girl?
