Beaches

Beaches

It's a common tussle between the two,

whether beach or mountain-side,

I prefer beaches

"where would you prefer to go to", he asked

Well, my choice is pretty clear I said.....as clear as an ocean that kisses the shores of a beach.

Guess he took the hint from my apparently clever reply,

As he immediately asked why?

Glad u asked, I thought to myself, for I have been waiting to confess it one way or another.

Beaches, you see remind me of us and the love we have found in each other

I am the sand lying on the bed of the earth

You are the sun that shines bright,

And in your golden light, I shine too

Your warm touch is the food to my soul.

It keeps me going when the day seems dull.

I dance when I see you peek from behind the clouds,

Coz that's how I know you are always there.

You are the evening moon, calmer but still so bright

I glisten like satin in ur silver light.

Oh! Such a delight

To see u, to admire you the whole night

You are the soft breeze, lifting me up

Whispering sweet melodies in my ear

You're also the wind, gushing in fast

Sweeping me off my feet and carrying me with you

You're sometimes the storm passing through

But hey, it makes me angrier too

Coz like a sandstorm, I rise and fight with you.

Glad that you are also the Ocean

Just your embrace calms me down

Your love knows no bounds

And when u find me upset...

Over things, silly or anyway

Like the writings on the sand

You wash it all away

Well, all in all what I meant is that

I love you and I know you love me too.

Why don't we plan the next getaway

To such a location,

that's fits in to my recent description

But wait, before we do that

Why don't you tell me too

Why do u prefer the beaches over mountain-side

Expecting a romantic response, I waited a bit

He looked at me and smirked

like he usually does..

Then pulled me closer and just said,

"I hate being cold"
