Part III - The real culprit

          December 28, 2020

I asked Ritwik's wife for a favour,

Agreeingly, she pointed out some clues by visiting her brothers...

She said - Kartik's voice resembled her brother's,

And even, the scars striked an similarity.

She had even brought an evidence,

A cologne bottle that fell off from Kartik's pocket.

And, the clues will now be the fireflies,

For that, I will have to make Mr. Chandak wait.

And now, comes the last part of the plan...

For this, I chose one of my friends, great in mimicry

His mimicry set out sparks, and

as the case neared to end, it turned phenomenal...

          December 29, 2020

The case would no longer be bewildering...

Surely, it will now turn into interesting!

Kartik Dev and Ritwik Kapoor met face to face,

and Kartik's reaction added truth to my guess...

His hands began to tremble, and

his face seemed to have lost its colour.

With a suspicious gaze, he looked around,

Might be wondering, had his crime been found?

As , Ritwik went ahead towards him,

His legs were in the readiness of running frantically.

And then, police came into the scene,

Even I came out of the hiding, then .

As I called Kartik as ' Mr. Pradeep Chandak',

his body began shivering again.

I started the story from December 22 ;

Ritwik was fed up with the trouble his    brothers-in-law created everyday.

That day, his patience got over, and he

slapped Pradeep for his public insult he did.

Pradeep couldn't bear Ritwik's new form and his growing success,

leading to a murder getting plotted in his mind.

In fury and anger, he hired some hoodlums

who scarred and injured Ritwik that day.

But, Ritwik somehow escaped his death.

However, the hoodlums were too bent upon their plan...

So, when they saw Ritwik's hand nearing the doorbell,

Instantly stabbed a dagger in his back, from behind.

After all this, you realized your grave mistake.

Fearing the law, you added a twist to your crime.

Portraying your brother-in-law Ritwik as criminal,

you created this false play of innocence...

Where was Ritwik? In a serious condition,

struggling with his death in a hospital.

Whereas, you Pradeep Chandak lived

the life of this fake person - Kartik Dev.

But, your scar exposed everything to me...

Why you wore watch on the right hand, added clarity.

Look, Pradeep, you changed every feature of yours;

But your voice still remained the same.

And to cover your crime, your brother

came up to me with a fake case.

Now, another point which made you seem a suspect -

were your initials - P.C on this cologne bottle.

What made you put the initials on the cologne?

Seriously, it was a hard nut to crack!

Then, I realized, it was meant for Mahant (Ritwik's friend),

when I heard Ritwik's story a day back.

You had bought two bottles of this cologne,

The one really filled with cologne was yours.

Other one with a toxic gas in it, was meant to

kill Mahant, and suppress this story.

You feared, what if you mistakenly take home the wrong one?

So, these initials worked out your problem...

But, your hired ruffians, dropped the bottle in

the confusion of seeing Mahant and Ritwik run.

And, this second bottle too dropped from your pocket.

Further, the bottles reached to the clues that were left....

The last and most important clue was - the

crumpled note in your paper waste basket.

You'd confessed all that you did, on the paper

Infuriated on reading it, your brother crumpled and threw it.

And how I made you come here, I needn't tell that...

Your fear of getting caught brought you here.

You fell for the fake demand of ransom.

No doubt, your fakeness had to get exposed some day.....
