Army Wife

I may be a brave wife,

I may fake my courage in the daylight of a dramatic life.

But in reality the darkness of nights,

Witnessed my lowest and my plights.

Under my blanket,

Here am still thinking of the day we first met.

When I lay awake on the bed.

On my cheeks are the tears I shed.

Brighter than the diamonds sparkle my tears,

Deeper than the oceans ‘regarding you’ are my fears.

Why are you so far?

To protect us and to fight a war.

You’re following the orders,

You’re living on a distinct border.

But distance means nothing,

When the soul sticks to one thing,

Our hearts are so very near.

But I miss you so much, my dear.

Distance is just a digit in miles,

Not a fear which in my heart piles.

Spent one more day without you,

Wondering what you’re wearing green, brown or blue?

Seeing the calendar, calculations I make,

So many mornings without you to awake.

So many nights without you to sleep,

So many things to share, which to myself I keep.

I lurk for the day,

When you’ll be coming back all through the way.

For the day when I’ll hug you tight,

For my eyes are craving for your sight.

But before I sleep,

Praying for you I can’t skip.
