And A Flag Fluttered On The Mast
And A Flag Fluttered On The Mast

Where the mind is with fear
A mind devoid of courage
Said the pens were bereft of ink
He wrote not what he saw everywhere
And let his country rot and sink.
He let them go after the little children
The women, the old and the poor
Breeding in fear as his mind was
He sang praise songs to unjust power.
He let them recreate the horrid past
Didn't care how the future was cast
Buildings came down first,
Lives were then lost thick and fast.
They then stood at his door
Seeking to take him away at last
There was nothing left of his country
But a flag fluttered on the mast.
