Ain’t No Hood Like Motherhood!

Pain, irritation, anxiety and mood swings,

On a roller coaster ride,

Were her wings!

 

No self-love, No me-time,

Only food restrictions and,

Sleepless nights were to be climbed,

Looking at ice-creams and chocolates was a big crime!

 

This went on for “Nine” long months,

Her patience was being tested,

For the dreams to get manifested!

 

Then finally arrived the much-awaited day,

“Baby boy” was bestowed upon her,

As a special blessing,

In the month of “May”!

 

Tears rolled out from her eyes as,

She caught the first glance of her baby,

Felt the first touch and the first kiss!

 

Love and care was in the air,

Smiles and blessings were everywhere,

Her soul was shining like a star,

But challenges were also not far!

 

Managing baby, family, health and office,

Then became a big task, with a “smile” on her face,

She hid the storm and wore the “happiness” mask!

 

She developed great patience and,

Gained mastery over every new task!

Her inner strength grew rapidly,

Making her super active and fast!

 

Blended with love and care,

Garnished with strength and satisfaction,

Her new journey of motherhood began!
