Agonising Night
Agonising Night
An evening sun
Mesmerizing in its ability
My eyes refuse to turn
Trying is an act of futility
There is a warm gentle breeze
Makes me feel cozy and secure
My bones detest the cold night's freeze
Now long will this magnificent instant endure
I wish this moment remains
Eternal in its glory
With the mind cleansed from its stress stains
Hallucinating an implausible story
Hard as it is, I admit
Perched high on this mountain
Readying myself to submit
To the impending night's ghastly pain.
With an eerie silence the disconcerting blanket envelops
Making it arduous to have hopes
Unnerving is the menagerie of howls and shrieks
Broken only by the resplendent morning streaks.
