What is an adornment,

The recluse's silence

or A Bard's

Indomitable word

or A sketcher's sketch?

What is an adornment,

The sky that is studded

With stars

And accompanied

By a beautiful moon

or the fragrance that

The breeze purloins

From flowers

or the water drops that

The rain penetrates

To the contour of earth?

Maybe a free mind

And a gullible heart

Can see those

Aesthetic adornments.

But how can I flatter

Myself to feel those,

my craving for false things

or meaningless achievements

chain me

And I fail to beguile time

In the true arms

Of adornments?
