A Wish
A Wish

Why did you, mom, celebrate;
The day I was born?
That date couldn’t be great;
When many hearts were torn!
I was called a storm;
Society wished for rain.
I wasn’t treated like a worm;
Still I gave much pain!
Everyone was filled with zeal,
But I turned out to be a stuff,
Whose smile couldn’t heal;
For I was thought duff!
Wish I was a baby boy,
Then won’t be looked as foe,
Would have given joy;
To those whom I nothing owe!
