A Thought of You

What do I say? We'll be distant in another day,

Can't tell you enough, how my heart so heavily weigh,

A few cities across, you seemed to be closer,

And now, with you going, I'm counting days backward and losing composure.

You know we haven't talked in a while,

You know the distance between us is beyond a mile,

But there is one thing you certainly wont know,

That when you smile, then here, I too smile.

There's one thing in the world that I would set a bargain for,

That each day I come close to you a little more, just a little more,

Your smile is such that it makes my heart skip a beat,

No matter how practical I may be but with you my mind takes a back seat

There's nothing that I think beyond thinking about you,

When shall I have you with me, I have no clue,

Irreparable dreams I might have to survive,

I'll hold on to them as long as I'm alive.

I'll set no expectations, I'll continue to hustle,

Overcoming the obstacles, fighting a tussle,

I'll continue to live in a world I never knew,

With a wrinkled face, rugged body, wine in my hand,

Eyes gazing at the sky, and a thought of you.
