Tragedy

A Shoe Without A Lace

A Shoe Without A Lace

Tripping, stumbling, fall flat on my face.

How can I find balance, with a shoe that has no lace?

Fits familiar, comfortable, I guess…

Have you forgotten me, God?

Did I lose you throughout this catastrophic mess?

I can barely move, I crawl instead of walk,

And between you and me god? This just won’t be fixed with a “talk”.

Evil is present and danger is approaching,

My soul, my spirit can not take the encroaching.

Sandals, boots, bags, even blocks…

Soon I have no shoes. Not even socks.

Not even smooth even ground,

I can’t even find a beautiful sound.

I find only hurt and evil and harm,

I’m at my wit's end. I’m sounding the alarm.

I am ending my life, it must be done,

There’s no such thing as happy fun.

Drugs and alcohol were my vices,

After everything, I look to my wrists to slice.

God, you’re fake, a weak peoples fabrication,

Or you would help me, stop this permanent vacation.

31 years I have suffered and settled,

While my useless, dysfunctional family gave up or meddled.

I can No longer stumble, crawl or limp around this hell, and the next time I fall, For once it goes well.

Simple decisions can be the best thought.

Everyone’s got issues, but at least there is someone they’ve got.

Signals, help, and books...Ugh, disgrace.

Walk my path with a shoe and no lace.
