A New Sunshine

A New Sunshine

I woke up early in the morning with unassertive confidence that today is going to be better than most of the days. I drew the curtains of my windows and my confidence got drowned amidst the dark grey clouds that accumulated all across the sky at varying lengths. My innocent hopes got shattered. I was daunted by the prospect that we all might have to face another devastating, stormy, reckless night. A night that ransacked the fragile lifestyles of the sinless people. I quickly shut all the windows, turned off all the electronic gadgets, and filled all the buckets. All awful situations leave behind their massive lessons. The thunders rolled and the sky grew darker. I have never in my life seen a day so dim and lifeless. After some time the rain started pouring heavily. I quietly crept downstairs to recheck whether the door was bolted firmly. I was astonished to see that it was just like any other rainy day.

One of the Kal Baisakhi that are meant to happen at this time of the year. I tried to recollect my earlier thoughts. The successive obstacles that we have been trying hard to overcome for the last few months have left an obnoxious trail that stopped me from expecting something normal. Even when the leaves rustle, my heart ceases for some seconds.

I cannot be afraid anymore. I went upstairs, drew my curtains, and heard the sky roaring. However, it was no longer hurting my ears. The thunder rattled the windowpane. I stared at the sky, the darkness became pale. I have never seen a morning sky so beautifully mixed with whimsical emotions. the rain gradually started embellishing the game of darkness and light. I started writing this blog with a sense of fear and apprehension and here I am, ending it with a positive note. Every cloud does have a silver lining, maybe the lining is faint but it still exists. Exists vividly in our perceptions and in our beliefs.
