A Barricade

A barricade placed on my eyelids,

Don't let tears roll down my cheeks.

It's easy to control, for behind the wall I hid,

But, for once, listen to me, please?

I ask you, yes, you.

Do tears of joy fill your eyes,

When you excel in something and make your parents proud,

Or,

Does seeing that one person excites you so much, so much that you cry?

Do tears of anger fill your eyes,

When the one thing you asked for was not given to you,

Or,

Does the world make you go through so much, so much that you cry?

Do tears of sorrow fill your eyes,

When your favorite character dies in a movie,

Or,

Does that one thing pain your heart so much, so much that you cry?

Do tears of disgust fill your eyes,

When you see the most horrifying scene at dusk,

Or, 

Does your fear of darkness overcome the light so much, so much that you cry?

There will come a day, 

When the world will stop.

The barricade will come down, 

And, tears will roll down my cheeks, non-stop.
