Circus Of My Life
Circus Of My Life
A dainty damsel with a thousand dreams
I step into realm unknown unseen
Life is a circus I had heard from chums
Joyous exciting entertainment fun
I couldn't fathom what lay in store
Till I left my paternal shore
Honeymoon time though brief is sweet
Life, a lullaby, a chirp, a tweet
Euphoria ends fade away romances
Circus of life duly commences
Caged confined clipped and reined
My carefree soul is erased and retrained
The roaring tiger silenced and tamed
The soaring kites whipped and chained
My maiden wantonness bound in restriction
My chirping spirit muted in submission
Behind the facade of paints and masks
Each day is a farce an elephantine cross
With more than three shifts without grouse
I juggle I scamper to ensure a full house
At beck and call of all those matters
I witness my dreams my hopes shatter
My destiny is to be an abiding partner
Controlled by a chauvinistic ringmaster
Nevertheless.....
In the midst of life's rigor and monotony
Acrobatics of my kids please my anatomy
And then........
The curtain of night falls I retire till morn
To play my shifts to again perform
With spells of gaiety with reams of strife
I am a survivor of a circus called life
