A Chance
A Chance
A question that haunts
Marriages are between partners
Or his whole family
Shoulders burdened with expectations
As soon there's a negligible error
Taunted attacked with words like swords
Someone says marriage meant
Looking after
Spouse's parents only
Not the ones who took pains really
On raising mentoring virtues
But not for bartering as slaves
No don't wear this
No don't sit beside
No don't eat or drink
Rather take a corner seat
At their feet
Kill your hunger pangs
Cook just cook
Clean just clean
Wipe just wipe
Wash rub spin
Hush don't speak
Don't utter your voice
No never don't you ever
Play with your own child
Because after birth
They become properties
Are they humans really
Why can you not be
A little of a daughter
From the disgraceful daughter in law
Yet the poor heart loves and respects
Because it knows
What goes also comes back
Maybe this happens this way
Because it happened always that way
The same way
For generations and generations
And so
You break it now
You stop them now
You fight them now
You face them now
Are you ready
It's time to take a stand
It's time for intolerance
A fight to get back life
A fight to get back
The snatched respect
A war of independence
In a small way today
Begins from your own house
Worthlessness doesn't define you
Helplessness not meant for you
Hopefulness it is
And then one day
The sun shall rise to goodness
The rains shall wet the hardness
The storms shall calm down to breeze
Love shall win back with righteousness
Wait wait do not give up
Give it another shot
I know how uncertainties attack
Yet another chance
A chance for all of them
A last chance the final one
Because once gone
Will erase it permanently
You turn your back to pains and wounds
When they become sores and scars
So here take one
Grab your chance
Lets replay again with love tools
With kindness and compassion
With considerate feelings
With thoughtfully spoken words
With gardens of flowers
With flowers to bear the fruits of
Happiness well deserved
Happiness wholly healed.
