Every move you make
Every step you take
Must be a measured footfall
'Coz life's chequered board
Is laid out with pawns and stakes
You must be on guard for punic bends
Beware of players with vicious intends
Clear out of the way of advancing rooks
Watch out for riders with fatal hooks
You meet them often at bends in rakes
Some will some cunning crafty or fake
On your face all cheers and smiles
Behind your back venomous and vile
It would, of course, be erroneous to assume
The planet is teeming with fraudsters and goons
Caution nevertheless is the strategy to skate
In rink of life to maneuver and checkmate
