The Bird and the Cage
The Bird and the Cage
Trapped from within the cage,
I see myself, the free bird.
Windows conceal and reveal,
What was never seen but heard.
What lay ahead, never know,
For overleaf lay a blank page.
Priceless innocence and ideas
Lay trapped within this mental cage.
Winds are cheap;
Wings, cheaper.
Flights may be steep;
Tumbling down, steeper.
Failures aren’t ignominious
Have no qualms about it.
Attempt stretching your wings.
Why have two thoughts about it?
Chew away inhibitions.
Gnaw at the cage, my friend.
I say, "this world is a cage.
But dreams know no end."
