The Sunset and the Setting
The Sunset and the Setting
The orange hues,
Those subtle cues,
Amber’s reign
That time again.
Far until my eyes see,
Overflowing warmth and glee,
As picturesque as it could be,
Stretches of glowing Tuscany.
Faded soft and translucent.
Creating a saffron blend.
Masterpiece from paint and brush,
As though, a woven upholstery plush.
Molten shadows lay behind,
Stuck to the soil. Confined—
Laying stretched, long, and skewed.
Birds chirping: back to their brood.
Looping in a grey blanket.
It is that time of sunset.
A twinkle or two up and far.
Soon there will be the North Star.
Penning down an epistle,
Contrasting daisy and thistle,
I tread along. Go forth.
En route my true north.
