A story of silent love, loyal hearts, and second chances.
[INT. OFFICE – NIGHT]
(Desks are mostly empty. ARJUN, late 30s, sits alone, eyes on a file — but his mind elsewhere.)
A cup of coffee slides beside him.
KRITIKA (early 20s, smiling)
You’re still here, sir?
ARJUN (gently)
Old habits.
KRITIKA
Loyal ones.
(He chuckles softly. Kritika sits.)
KRITIKA
Can I ask you something?
ARJUN
Sure.
KRITIKA
You’re kind, helpful, loyal… why do you still look so… alone?
(He pauses. Looks down. Smiles.)
ARJUN
Ever heard the line…
“When you finally accept that you’re not anyone’s favorite person, and that people only talk to you when they need something.”
KRITIKA (whispers)
That’s heavy.
[FLASHBACK – 10 YEARS AGO]
(Young Arjun, charming but quiet, is walking out of the office with MEERA, the woman he secretly loves.)
MEERA
Arjun, you’re my best friend. I can’t imagine life without you.
(He smiles, hiding the heartbreak.)
ARJUN (voiceover)
I was always there. Always chosen… last.
Cut to: Meera’s wedding. Arjun stands at the back, clapping, silent.
ARJUN (voiceover)
“Love is not about winning or losing. True love is the one where there’s no hope of meeting, yet you still wait for them.”
[FLASHBACK – SAME TIMEFRAME – RAVI’S STORY]
(Arjun sits with his best friend RAVI in a college canteen. Ravi is nervously watching a girl — PRIYA.)
RAVI
Bro, I swear I’m marrying her.
ARJUN (laughing)
You’ve never even spoken to her.
(Montage follows — Ravi making a fool of himself, Priya slowly falling for his charm, their wedding, and eventually the birth of ANYA.)
ARJUN (voiceover)
They fought, they loved, they built something real. Ravi didn’t wait to be chosen. He chose. And Priya chose him back.
[INT. RAVI’S HOUSE – PRESENT]
(Arjun is playing with Anya, now 6. She climbs into his lap.)
ANYA
Chachu, you’re so loyal… tell me your love story.
(Ravi and Priya, nearby, go quiet.)
ARJUN (smiles faintly)
Beta… loyal people don’t get love stories.
(Priya wipes her eyes quietly. Ravi looks at Arjun, guilt in his silence.)
[INT. OFFICE – PRESENT – BACK TO ARJUN & KRITIKA]
KRITIKA
You really believe that?
ARJUN
I used to.
KRITIKA (softly)
Then maybe… someone was just waiting to prove you wrong.
ARJUN (looking at her)
You’ve only known me for a few months.
KRITIKA (smiles)
“Friendship has nothing to do with how long we’ve known each other.”
(Their eyes meet. Silence… but this time, it’s not empty.)
[INT. OFFICE PARTY – DAYS LATER]
(Arjun and Kritika walk in together. Office staff look surprised. Boss nods with respect.)
COLLEAGUE 1 (whispers)
Didn’t think he had it in him.
COLLEAGUE 2
He was always there. Just unseen.
[FINAL SCENE – RAVI’S HOUSE – NIGHT]
(Arjun, Kritika, Ravi, Priya, and Anya laugh over dinner.)
ANYA (to Kritika)
You like my Chachu?
KRITIKA (smiling)
I see your Chachu.
ARJUN (voiceover)
Sometimes… the best love stories don’t begin with a confession.
They begin when someone… finally sees you.
TITLE ON SCREEN: UNSEEN
To the ones who are always there. One day, someone will see you too.
