Unloved

There was an old man who built a stone bench under this strong multiple-branched banyan tree which stood there for years. He was there every evening since then for the next few years. And he stopped visiting one day. Then the abandoned stone bench had many visitors then and there who stayed for months but none more than a year. There was rain, storms, and a boiling Sun. A school kid drew a heart over the bench with his ballpoint pen which stayed there for days. Another lady left a bindi sticker over the arm of the bench and a few other memories were etched. Obviously, birds have created their own art and the stone bench already had crossed decades. It was there. It was thereeee. And it will be. 

This is the story of a stone bench, not an old man.
