Rakesh hovered his eyes out the window to behold the festival celebrated by rain God. The drops of rain wreathed with divine essence brought with it the bliss churned out by clouds. Dogs trembled thanks to the cool wind which blew across the street. The 10nth standard fella stood like a robot tugging the window grills. His father Vijay emerged into his room with a clear intention to change the mind code of his only son, who was disinterested in studies. He knew the importance of the 10nth board exam and deemed it as a prelude for a brilliant and prosperous career ahead. He did not wish his son to flunk in the exams which would cease his momentum and confidence in pursuing higher education by cutting the tentacles of his interests. He plopped his hand over his son's shoulders which brought the latter back to reality. Vijay said that he had visited the monastery last week to seek blessings from his guru. His guru revealed to him the most powerful code which would help a person to achieve all his dreams. Whatever is envisaged would materialize. He also said that the mantra should be uttered only by a single person every day in the morning time to reap the benefits of it. Upon this revelation by his father, Rakesh jumped in joy thinking that he would be able to escape from the clutches of studies but his father thought otherwise. His father said that if his son does not pass the 10nth board exams with flying colours, he will not be licensed to reveal the code as quoted by his guru. Ramesh who looked ecstatic till then donned a solemn face upon listening to his father's shocking disclosure. His father reiterated the importance of the board exams to his son who was hell-bent to know the code which would change his fortunes forever.

Ramesh slumped on his sofa with his father's words still fresh in his mind. He envisaged what his future would be like upon the revelation of the code but the condition to access the code irked him. He hated to even prepare for simple class tests but now he has to pass the board exams with flying colours to get access to the code. Multiple thoughts sprang in his mind to resort to cheap methods to get access to the code. However, he was scared about the monastery gurus as they were clear about the condition which must be met to reap the benefits of the code. He plunged his hands into the bag and pulled out a book which he placed on his laps before getting engrossed in its chapters. Vijay had very seldom seen his son pick a book up leave alone studying but this was a wow experience for him as he glimpsed at his son who seemed to be lost in the world made up of books. With class tests around the corner, Rakesh believed he had to pull up the socks to do well in the test which would reinforce his confidence going forward before taking up the final board exams. He attended the class tests but couldn't score well owing to his disinterest in studies. This turned out to be a warning for him as this kind of poor performance would only lead to his failure in the board exam which means he would miss out on the opportunity to win the code which would change his life forever. The thought of losing access to the code shuddered his body. He was aware that he cannot resort to cheap means to score well because 10nth is a board exam with beefed up surveillance. There is no other option but to be vigilant enough to do well in the exams.

Rakesh had made some futile attempts to get a peek into the mantra but his father was vigilant enough to curb the relentless desires of his son. Rakesh prepped up well for the board exams and for the first time in his life he piled up time for studies. Even his friends and teachers were surprised by his change in mentality. The old Rakesh who seldom cared about studies had transformed into a new Rakesh who was studious and was craving to perform well in exams. Scoring well in the board exams is not insurmountable as long as you prepare well. The heartbeats of parents went for a toss as their children appeared for the final board exams. Amidst tension flaring high, students managed to attend the exams. The question paper, peppered with questions decreed students to rack up their brains. Rakesh who had quaffed up the syllabus didn't look ruffled at the sight of question papers. He continued to pile the answer sheets with words that seemed to weave together to generate correct answers. Some of them tried cheap tactics to copy in the examination hall but their illegal act was net with terrible fate as they were debarred from the exams. The tumultuous school had resorted to silence for two weeks thanks to the board exams.

The board exam results would be out in a few minutes. Vijay, waited with bated breath as his son's results would be out in a few minutes. He jumped from his chair unable to comprehend the numbers of his son. He had not only scored 95% but also had topped the class much to the excitement of his father whose plan worked to perfection directing his son towards his studies. Now the code cannot be alienated anymore. Unable to cease his curiosity, Rakesh asked his father to reveal the code now. His father gestured apologies by clinging fingers to his ears. He had cooked up a story citing the mantra would change his life but the reality was there was no such mantra. He played a prank on his son to ensure his son would do well in the exams as opposed to failing. His trick paid rich dividends as his son took studies seriously and scored well in the exams which turned out to be a precedent for his future career. When Rakesh asked his father the reason as to why he played such a trick the latter said that this was the only way for him to direct his son towards studies and there will not be any such code in the world that can transform our lives.
