Staying indoors in 2020 was the most boring thing which made us utterly lazy. This Pandemic left us with no choice but to just stay at home.


I started 2021 with a wonderful thought, I decided to indulge myself in physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The first event that I planned was going on a trek with my family! So we visited Vanjangi, a small village in the eastern ghats in Andhra Pradesh.


We started at 4’o’, clock in the morning to see the sunrise. We decided to go by car to the top of the mountain, but then I and my mom thought of walking up to the mountain instead as we have been indoors all this while and this walk would be beneficial in strengthening our muscles.

We had to climb 3 cliffs to climb the mountain. We started climbing at 4:30 in the morning. Myself, I and mom climbed very fast while the others were very slow taking pictures and stopping by every now and then.


When my self and mom were walking we came across many cars and bikes that passed by. When we reached there, there was another path leading to the peak of the mountain.


I expected a lot fewer people to come out because of the pandemic but it turned out to be a happening place and it was pretty crowded. 


When we all finally reached the peak of the mountain the view wasn't too clear because of the fog, as the fog cleared I could see a sea of clouds. Amidst that fog and clouds suddenly the sun started rising from the fog, the sky started changing its colours from purple, pink and blue to orange and yellow. I could feel the warmth. The sun looked like an orange ball in the sea of clouds. As time passed the clouds started to move and show us the green hilltops. I felt this trek made me feel complete. I was at peace with myself.

While walking down we got to see a similar view from different angles.


I think this was the best start of 2021 I could ever imagine. I feel trekking makes us happy, where you don't have to worry about anything. It makes you feel just….. free. Nature, hills, clouds and sunrise gives us good vibes. And that's how trekking can elevate our spirits.
