The Witch's Red Cat

" Who could withstand this nuisance?" said George.

"None! Except whose belly is filled" replied George.

A moment of silence broke out in the entire room. As both stare at one another for approval. The silence finally got broken. A stray cat

 purred near the door as Michelle picked up her bag for leaving.

" Have you read this?"

"What?"

The Witch's Red Cat is a hoax?

"No, George. I saw it with my own eyes."

Few people who claimed it in the neighbourhood couldn't still prove it.

" I don't need approval or have anything to prove to anyone" Michelle burst out as her face turned red. She wore her shoes and began to look after her specs. George decided to come along as he looked up for his car keys.

"George, are you coming too?"

"It's getting late and it won't be a good idea to walk when its snowing outside" 

Michelle lived in the same neighbourhood. Barely a 15 min walk from George's place. But she decided to listen to George, Somewhere she wanted him to accept her thought on The red cat. Yet, she behaved in an uncaring we.

"Fine, But don't talk with me anything about the Cat"

"Sure!" 

George somehow controls his laughter. As they both walked through the staircase right into the parking area.

They were barely in the mid-way Michelle remembered that she had forgotten her books in George Sofa.

" George, I forgot to carry my books"

"Take it yesterday" 

"No I can't I shall be travelling to the nearby town by tomorrow and I need to finish my projects as early as possible"

After a long persuasion. George finally reversed his car back. As Michelle start jumping off the car seat.

" Now what?"

"The red cat! The red cat !"

George lowered his car window and was shockingly surprised. He saw a blood-red cat sitting beside a Pine tree mewing at him, Out of excitement he picked out his phone to click its photos. But the cat fled inside the thick bush.

"Michelle wait here I will just come around" 

George began to get off the car but was stopped by Michelle.

" It is not right to walk after the Red cat, It is rumoured to be of a witch"

George sniffed with disagreement. Yet listened to Michelle.

As George drove back the car to his home both were excited and talked about a range of possibilities concerned over the red cat. Soon they were back home. As George began unlocking the key and went in along with Michelle. She was still moving out of fear and shock. A thought of black magic was clouding her mind as she is the only one who saw the red cat twice. The neighbour's cat purred again sending a cold shiver to Michelle's feet.

" Don't worry Michelle. It's a stray cat let me drive it out"

George went right to the door but was shocked the red cat was sitting above his car. Michelle was too following George, she fainted from the horrible sighting. George's body was to freeze as he spotted a bright light from outside lighting his backyard. A big black shadow seems to enter the open backyard as the light gets dimmer and dimmer. It was Teddy George's neighbour and best friend. He was off to Greece for vacation and arrived that very day. He came to say Hi to George and have a drink of wine at his home,  

" Hey, George! "

"Hey, that's my cousin's cat. Where did you find it?"

As George was gaining up his breath"

" Cousin's cat, Why is it Red?"

Teddy with a confused face spoke to George that the cat got lost a few months back when his cousin arrived from Swiss. His cousin talked about the cat's peculiar habit of rubbing itself against the red dried leaves of a tree that sheds during winters. Perhaps this is why the cat is red.

Teddy picked up the cat and start placating the cat.

"My cousin would be so happy to see his lost cat"

Michelle began to wake up as she overheard the situation, Soon George told Teddy how the rumour of the witch cat have spread in the neighbourhood. As some people began to speak about the sighting of a witch to fighting the red cat as it turned into a lion, They all began to laugh out loud and decided not to speak the truth to anyone,
