A small girl was studying in a government primary school. At the time, the conditions of government schools were very poor. Sports, essay writing, and speech competitions were conducted rarely. The girl stepped into the 6th standard. One day, She saw the notice board regarding the Essays and Debate competition. She was quite anxious to participate. The writer inside her was pushing her to participate. The most awaited day came. After the writing competition Debate competition started. When she started her speech in the debate competition, her teacher made fun of her. The teacher's words made her feel bad. So she decided not to take part in the upcoming years.
After 2 years again sports day was celebrated. Same Time Essays competition too organized. Before the competition, her Dad asked, "My dear! In which events you are participating ?" She told her father, "Dad, last time Sir said that I didn't write so well or gave a good speech. I'm wasting their time by taking part in these competitions." Dad got astonished and said, "We can do better or better. But only if we are trying harder and harder. Try it. There is a saying
"What is more important than success and failure is that you continue trying"
Inspired by Dad, the girl took part in the competition. Her hard work showed its result and she won the first prize in the ninth standard. And later she participated in City level Writing competition and made the school proud with 2nd prize. It is well said that:
. “Believe you can and
you’re halfway there.”
