Me & my wife were on a trip to Himachal Pradesh. It was during November 2022. We had to visit Mata Bala Sundari Temple in Trilokpur, a small beautiful town in Himachal Pradesh. It is the same place from where I completed my B.Tech in 2007. It was an Industrial Area. For every student, college is a place that he/she remembers throughout his/her life. Same is the case with me. I also remember that industrial area very thoroughly. My college is situated in this area.

But as I entered the area, I was not able to recognise the place. Big sized industries all around. The entire road from main bus stop to main temple was full of beautiful looking industries. But it was crowded too. I remember as a college student, there were not many industries over there. But today it has become a full fledged complete industrial hub. Large number of industries operating in different domains all around. Remembering my college days, I was surprised to see the number of industries over there.

One of my old friend works in one of those industries. His house is also there near his factory. I went to meet him. He was very happy to see me. We talked a lot remembering our childhood days. I asked him, "When I was studying here, there were not many industries. But today it has become a huge industrial area. No industry ever came to our college for campus placements."

My friend said, "But today many good colleges are established here. Industries have also setup their base & they are consistently visiting colleges of this place & providing job opportunities to the freshers. Now the conditions are far better. Even if students are not selected at the time of campus placement, they can prepare well & indipendently visit various organisations. There they can have face-to-face talk with the HR & by doing so, chances of getting called for face-to-face round can increase.

Do you remember that there used to be a dhabawala where we took our lunch." I said, "Yes, where is he?I came to know that his son also studied from our college." My friend took me to him. Seeing me the dhabawala was very happy. I asked him about his son. He said, "My son completed B.Tech from the same college. He is very emotional. When he was in 3rd year, he often felt upset that after one year, he will have to leave us & go to big cities. But due to God's grace large number of industries got constructed in this area & my son got opportunity to work in one of those industries. It's a good industry, with good salary package & a reputed corporate life. A great opportunity of learning as well.

I have come to know that more reputed organizations are also coming. If it happens, my son will be getting more better opportunities at his home town only."

I was quietly listening to him. He had nothing to do with industrial growth. Actually he wanted his son to be with him forever. And that is only possible if his son finds industries relevant to his profile in his hometown. And he is not wrong if he thinks like this. We say that Delhi NCR & other big cities are industrial hubs of the nation. But one more thing is there; the people who live in Delhi NCR & other such places, they don't have to leave their parents once they complete their studies. Why this situation is not there in most of the places in the country?

That day I realised one more importance of developing Industrial Areas. No parents want to seperate their children from them. It is just because of job compulsions that we leave our parents, our village, our loved ones. And if professional colleges are there in every corner of the country, why industries are in limited locations?

Me & my wife returned to the hotel where we were staying. Whole night I was just thinking about that bhabawala. Family emotions really matter a lot. And if one industry can bring families closer, why not build 1000's of them.
