When you hear about the ring, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Does it mean commitment, love, and engagement

Well, there is a different story with this golden ring.

Raj and Jiya were best friends. Their friendship started gradually from Hi, Hello to best buddies. No matter what Jiya could not be calm if Raj could not spend time with her. She was totally addicted to his company. She shared even the smallest of the matter to him. On the other hand, Raj was an emotional introvert guy. He was fun loving and a cheerful person. He was loyal at his friendship but sometimes becomes over emotional within. He doesn’t open up much to people and likes to keep things in his mind rather than speaking it out. They were completely different people altogether but the best combination.

It was the summertime. Raj and Jiya were having a cup of coffee. Jiya to Raj- “You know that I am getting engaged with my cousin Sam in a month’s time, right? Raj- “Which psycho has agreed to marry you?”

Do you still not believe that? asked Jiya.

Yes, I don’t believe that someone just agreed to spend the whole life with a stupid like you, said Raj.

I know. That’s why you are my Best friend, she said.

Raj, Will you still be my best buddy after I get engaged? Will you still listen to all my nonsense? Asked Jiya.

Thank God, I would not have to do it anymore, said Raj.

Phone rings:

Jiya: Hello

Sam on the other line: Hi Jiya, can we meet up, I am outside your office.

Jiya: Sure, I will be at the gate in 2 minutes.

I have to go, that’s what you want to say right?, please go, said Raj.

Yes, but I will see you in the evening, Riya said while rushing towards the gate.

Jiya called Raj in the evening as he left early for the day.

Raj does not answer the call. Jiya kept calling and after about 10 calls, she left a message asking him to a callback. But, there was no reply from Raj.

The next day Raj didn’t come to the office and didn’t answer to calls and messages too.

After a week Raj replied- “Sorry, little busy”.

Jiya: “Stupid, you are telling this after a week? Gosh, I am getting engaged this week and things are so fast, need you here. Please come back”, she replied.

There was no response again from Raj again.

Jiya kept calling Raj until he finally answered the call.

Jiya: Where are you? Please come back. I need to get the ring for him by tomorrow and I want you to help me.

Raj: Okay. I will be there tomorrow.

Next day they both met at the Mall. Both of them were silent.

Jiya started looking around for the rings. She liked the one that was simple and sweet. She asked Raj to see how it looks on him. The ring was so perfect in his finger and it fits him so well as if it was just made for him.

Jiya liked it and decided to buy it. Raj on the other side said he would also like to buy one for his future fiance and asked her to pick one. She selected the beautiful diamond ring. Raj bought it.

Raj dropped Jiya to her home.

Jiya was busy with her engagement that she didn’t get time to talk to Raj for a week.

It was the day of the engagement, after getting ready Jiya opened the ring box and found that the rings were exchanged. Hence, she called Raj so that he can come and exchange them back. However, his phone was not reachable.

Jiya had to arrange for another ring and with her cousin's help, she was able to arrange it in a short time.

Jiya was engaged to Sam and was busy in her life.

After a month she saw Raj in the office. He was wearing the ring she got for Sam. Seeing that she went to him and asked why he was wearing that ring. He said, the rings were exchanged and would you give Sam a second ring if I give this back to you?

Jiya said-“No!”

Then chill said Raj and started doing his work.

That was the last day they both met each other.

After a month Jiya got married to Sam and moved to a different city.

Raj is my husband. I am Sheela. He still wears two rings, one that was exchanged with Jiya and the one I got on our engagement.

He often says, this ring is not just defined for lovers, it’s not a meaning to engagement and commitment, and sometimes it’s about memories and also a symbol of having a best friend.

Raj said I left her when I heard about her engagement was not because I loved her and wanted to marry her. It was because, yes, I was losing a best friend.

I met Jiya after our marriage and you know what Raj, Jiya also wears two rings like you do.

I wish I had a best friend too!

To their surprise I have arranged a get together so that these old best buddies could meet up and Sam is helping me in this. Let’s see how much they would be surprised to see each other.
