The Gift of Sight
The Gift of Sight
I was traveling by train in 2019. Besides me were sitting a couple with their eighteen year old son named Swarup.
In front of Swarup were sitting another couple, Mr & Mrs. Sharma with their ten year old son.
As the train journey began and gradually the train moved with full speed, Mr and Mrs. Sharma noticed that Swarup was very excited seeing the beautiful scenery outside his window seat. He was enjoying every moment and saying his parents that what beautiful trees, mountains, flowers, etc are there outside!
Mr. Sharma could not contain himself further and asked Swarup's father that why was Swarup behaving like a two year old kid? Has he any medical condition!
Swarup's father saw Mr. Sharma's face for sometime and then slowly said ' Today Swarup was discha
rged from the hospital. His eye operation was successful and it was this day when his son first time saw this world, it's beautiful colours!! the beautiful trees, plants, mountains, birds, animals, etc. !! '
He added that Swarup was blind since birth and this year they got a call from the hospital that they have found a donor!!
As first time Swarup was seeing this beautiful world, he could not contain his excitement and was overwhelmed with happiness!!
Mr. Sharma was choked with emotion and didnot say anything!
Many times we take things and matters at their face value, i. e. as they appear. Without thinking about the need to find the deeper and true meaning or reason for it. As the wise saying goes 'Jo Dikhta hai wo sach nehi , jo nehi dikhta wohi sach hai' !!!
