The Few Ones - Part 1

Every few years or so, there is a battle royale. Against all the 'weird' and 'special' people. The ones with abilities. It's a way the government can cleanse the nation of them. Them, us; people like me. They never liked us. Afraid that we can, might, overthrow them and make things fair for everyone, especially us the 'weird' and 'special'.

I never knew the history of us until I was put into the drawing. I never knew I was one of them until I was put into a situation that forced me to find out. When I did find out, that's when I lost someone I cared about because of what we were taught in school. We were taught they were bad and the reason why the world is upside down.

There are just a few of us left. A couple of thousands. We aren't allowed to marry without officials' permission. Aren't allowed to have babies, under any circumstances. Our abilities scared the uneducated. They scared the educated.

This is the story of 'The Few Ones'.
