THE CYCLE REPEATS
THE CYCLE REPEATS
Rajat was sad and unhappy," his grandpa was packing his bag.
'Dadu, where are you going? You said that you will play cricket with me', lamented Rajat.
"Yes Rajat, I will. I just have some work so I am going for few days and will come back soon", assured Kanti Lal ji.
Still, Little Rajat was wondering 'Why is Dadu crying?'
---------------
It had been a month but Dadaji wasn't back. ' why isn't he back yet?' Wondered little boy.
' Mumma, Papa, I want to meet Dadaji; it has been long I met him last', insisted Rajat.
Avinash pacified him time and again but this time Rajat was adamant. Avinash had realised that his son wouldn't agree at anything less than meeting his grandfather. 'But what if he asks why his Dada stays at a different place ; an old age home ', his guilt resurfaced. For the sake of peace at his place, he had decided to send him to an old age home; Kanti lalji too had agreed being a soft-hearted person he was.
----------------
" Papa, where we have come?
" Asked a curious Rajat. The place seemed new to him with all the new faces.
" Wait. Let s go inside. I have a surprise for you", said the tearful Avinash.
'Dadaji', shouted Rajat on seeing his Daadu after a long time. Both grandson and grandfather met each other as if they had met after years.
" Dadaji, why are you staying here? Let's go home",cried Rajat.
" Oh yes! Definitely but not today. I work here. But you shall come to meet me", said Grandpa wiping his tears.
After chatting for some time, Rajat waved a good bye with the promise to see him again.
"ok Papa, I will go", said a hesitant Avinash.
" Sure but you promise me one thing, you won't tell him about this place. After all, just the way you grew up from a child to an adult and soon will be like me;an old person,Rajat will also grow up and will replace you while you will replace me. So I feel scared that history shall not repeat itself and you shall not land up in my place in future".
Avinash was clueless; he didn't have any answer.
