That's How We Met Again..! (1)

Being a corporate employee you surely can imagine a girl, with a high adrenaline rush, getting ready for her 1^st day in the office, getting ready for her dream job. Do you all remember your first day in ODC after your ILP? I am asking this because I remember my 1^st day very clearly, it was the best memory of my life. Why? Let me tell you!

I clearly remember; keeping my eye on the time, I was getting ready for the 1^st day of my office. I was wearing grey formal pants which was paired with a white formal shirt which was neatly tucked in my pants, my hair were neatly tied in messy lose bun which was fixed by U pins, and a small curl was lingering on my cheek, which I was unable to fix. I wore small earrings which were suitable for the attire, wore my glasses and watch; and then took my purse and by wearing white sandals I left for the office.

After few minutes I was standing in front of huge building, a lot more excited and nervous as hell, with sweaty hands, shivering a little I entered in the office, after the usual security check, receptionist informed me about the person I am supposed to report, along with that she directed me towards my ODC and I went for the same.

It took few minutes for me to reach the ODC, and once I entered, I checked the watch and was relieved to see that I was on time, immediately I found the cabin of my team lead. I took a few minutes to catch my breath and then I knocked on the door twice and pocked my head inside by slightly opening the door asking, “May I come in?”

Inside there was a middle-aged woman, sitting on the chair, her jacket was neatly placed on the back of the chair, and in front of her there was a laptop on the desk, on which she was working with her head down. Without even looking at me she gestured me to come in, I entered in her cabin and was standing in front of her trying my best to hide my nervousness; meanwhile she pulled her glasses down a little analyzing me from top to bottom, and then nodding to herself she said, “New recruit, what was your name again? Veda right?”

Smiling a little I nodded in agreement and replied, “Yes mam, that’s right.”

“I appreciate the person who knows how to dress properly, you are taking this thing seriously it seems.”  She said while keeping her laptop aside and then by looking at me she said, “I hope, I am right; now no time for chit chat, I have mailed you the task along with sufficient details on your official mail Id; go through it and submit the data by the end of the day.”

“Yes mam, I will complete the task as soon as possible.” Excitedly I replied.

I was waiting there for her further instructions but then she said, “Am I looking like a Joker?”

“No mam!”

“Then why are you standing here smiling like a stupid, go do some work, you have a deadline to catch!” She said this, and hurriedly I left the cabin, I am sure that at that time I was looking like prey as if I just came from lion’s den, a lioness actually.

After this encounter with Team Leader, I just came to my desk and started my work immediately like a sincere kid.
