That's How We Met Again...! -3

An hour before the deadline my team leader called me in her cabin, hurriedly I entered in her cabin and nervously I said, “The task you assigned to me is almost done mam, I will mail the data ASAP.”

She gave me the weird look and said, “You proved me wrong, you are not as sincere as I thought you would be, on the 1^st day itself you forgot your manners, the door of my cabin is there so that you can knock on it before you enter you know; anyways I don’t have time to correct your small mistakes, now go to Mr. Soham’s cabin, he need your help with something, go and help him, and then resume your pending work.”

“Mam but…” interrupting my sentence in between, she ordered me, “No ifs and no buts; just follow my orders, you may leave now.”

Halfheartedly I came out of her cabin and entered in Soham’s cabin, of course after asking for the permission. I inquired about the problem and started my work quietly; meanwhile Soham was sitting on his chair in front me, and he was eating sandwiches, it reminded me of my hunger; I looked at his sandwich like a hungry puppy, but then immediately I averted my gaze and concentrated my mind on the work, maybe he noticed, that I am hungry because immediately after that he offered me his Sandwich. Initially, I refused it but then, he insisted me to take at least one piece so I took one. I was eating it and side by side I was completing my work but while doing so I realized, that problem was not even that difficult, solving it was like a child’s play, he might have solved it on his own, but still he summoned me to do so, I was wondering why! I thought he was purposefully causing me the trouble, to take revenge; and that made angry but I kept my calm in that moment and did my work honestly.

It took me just 15 minutes to solve the problem, “And it’s done, problem solved, now I’ll take your leave.”

“Oh! Problem solved already, thank you, you just saved my day.”  He replied.

I smirked at him and said, “Oh please! Don’t exaggerate, I know you were capable to solve this on your own, but still you wanted to waste my time; anyways thank you for your Sandwich, I won’t forget it.”

Sadly he sighed and said, “Come on, just stop it, why are you being so rude to me? I am just trying to help, earlier I saw you all alone in the ODC so I came to inquire, but you totally ignored me; and now I thought you might be feeling hungry as you skipped your lunch, so I called you here so that you can eat something but still you are being rude. Why don’t you understand that I am just trying to be friendly for you to feel comfortable in the office environment?”

I was stunned for a moment by this sudden outburst but then I said, “Look, I am sorry; in attempt to impress the team lead I just ignored all other things, but I promise it won’t happen again, okay!”

He just nodded at me smiling a little and I returned the smile, but why he was that eager to help me; I was still trying to figure out; but then to concentrate on my pending task I just ignored the thought and left the cabin.
