That's How We Met Again..! - 2

I was expecting the task to be simple and short but it was lots of work to do within this short deadline, still, I was determined to do it. I wanted to complete the task before the deadline and that too without any mistake, and in that attempt, I forgot about the lunch break, and by the time I remembered it was too late, when I came to my senses and looked around, I saw that there was no one around, sadly sighing aloud I sat back on the chair and started my work.

After sometime I heard footsteps, I tried to ignore it to concentrate on the work but then I got disturbed by the voice of a man who was singing a famous song, ‘Perfect’ by ‘Ed Sheeran’ “Darling you look perfect tonight……”

Singing like this he entered in the ODC, did a small twirl, and that’s when he noticed me, we were looking at each other equally amazed; the moment passed, we were still looking at each other; that’s when he realized, what just happened and embarrassed by his own behavior, by putting his head down silently like a good boy, he almost ran towards his cabin.

This whole incident brought a smile on my face and smiling a little, I got back to work. After sometime the same guy came to me, and knocked on my desk to get my attention; this disturbance was irritating for me but still putting a fake smile on my face I said, “Yes, How can I help you?”  This was the 1^st time I noticed his actual appearance, he was tall, dusky in color, with sharp nose, and short hair neatly fixed with the help of gel, basically he was quite good looking, and in his formal black shirt and grey pants he was looking even more handsome; and the best part was his eyes, he was looking at me with his deep hazel nut eyes, when he said, “Actually I came here, to inquire about you, are you a new joinee?”

“Yes, my name is Veda, and today is my 1^st day.”

“Oh! And on the first day itself, you skipped your lunch, how tragic! I am Soham by the way.” He extended his hand towards me.

“Nice to meet you Sir, and don’t you worry about my lunch, I can take care of myself, now will you please excuse me, I have work to do.” Giving his hand a firm shake I replied.

“Of course, but please have lunch before you resume work.” I completely ignored his advice maybe that hurt him because before leaving he mumbled something, “Here I am concerned about you, and you are ignoring me on my face, I will keep this in mind.”

I heard it and I felt guilty about it, but I had no option as finishing my task on time was my 1^st priority, so I forced my mind on the work and ignored all other things.
