That Foggy Night

So, this is when I was 5 years old. It must have been around 9 o'clock at night. I was traveling from the city to my village with my father. It was cold weather and there was a lot of fog on the way, which made my father drive slowly.

That night, no one was visible from far and wide because the temperature was very low, and people were at home due to the cold. I was very scared of the dark, so I held on to my father tightly.

Then, on the way, my father saw five people standing on the side of the road with their bikes.

A little further , a man stood in front of our bike, and my father applied the brakes. My father started scolding him a lot and said that if an accident had happened, at the same time, the man took out a gun from his pocket and held it to my father's head.

Then, all those five people come to us and started taking things from my father's bag. I was very scared, and my father was also frightened. They took all the money from my father's wallet.

I was afraid that they might steal my Bournvita from the trunk of the bike. So, I put my hand in my pocket and grabbed the 50 rupees my aunt had given me on the way to the village.

After taking all the money and stuff from my father, they put away their guns and left on their bikes.

My father's friend's hotel was just a short distance away. My father took me there, and then we went to the police station with his friend.

It was my first time seeing the police, and I was so happy to see them. My father wrote a report at the police station, and then we went to my aunt's house.

We stayed at my aunt's house that night.

The next morning, we returned to our village. As soon as I reached the village, I asked my father for my Bournvita box, and I drank it mixed with milk.

I will never forget that foggy night, not because they stole my father's stuff and money, but because they neither took my Bournvita nor my 50 rupees.
