Supandi’s Tooth Ache

Supandi went to school as usual in the morning. Suddenly, by the lunch time, his tooth started aching. He didn’t know what to do. If he complained about it to the teacher, he knew that the teacher wouldn’t believe him because of his history of pranks.

He bore so much pain for the first time, and his heart ached with guilt. He realised that all the pranks of his were now teaching him a lesson. He also remembered the boy and the wolf story. He reminded himself, “Never lie so much that no one will believe you if you ever speak truth”. He was facing results of his behaviour.

He wanted to try for one last time but with more seriousness in his tone and adding facts. He went to his teacher and told, “please sir, could you call my parents to take me to the dentist, I have a bad toothache.”

His teacher found a difference in the way Supandi asked permission. He saw that he didn't make excuses anymore to go outside the class. His teacher then let him go after calling his parents. Supandi learnt a very important lesson of life that day, “To never lie”.
