Stand By Me - Part 30

Suddenly the doorbell rang, again.

That moment between us was broken….although I wished it has continued.

“Had he ordered anything else?”, I wondered.

I could see his face getting tensed at the sound of the doorbell ringing although he did not say anything.

He suddenly got up , really puzzled.

“Can you do me a favor?” , he asked.

“Can you please go upstairs to my room?”, he requested.

“Don’t get me wrong, I am not sure who’s come, its just that it would get a little awkward, hope you understand”, he added.

I wanted to ask him what was awkward exactly, but decided not to.

I did as told, I quickly went upstairs into his room and shut the door.

Once I was in his room, I couldn’t stop myself from thinking where was this meeting headed.

He had told that his parents won’t be back until evening.

Even if they had come back, what was the harm in letting them know that I had dropped by to visit.

He could pass me off as a friend who had dropped by to check on him.

Suddenly my phone buzzed.

It was a text from Alka.

Your mom called, your phone not reachable,  where are you?

Oh God!!

I realised it was already past noon, infact it was 2 pm, I hadn’t even told mother if I would be coming home for lunch.

I was stuck, stuck in love, maybe…..
