Stand By Me - Part 3

I was done with my first year midterm exam and the student council elections were just around the corner.

Rithvik's team wanted few juniors to campaign for him, propagate his candidature, especially among the female student population. As luck would have it, one of the professors suggested my name to his campaign team, the reason being that I was the batch topper in the midterm examination. If I could put in some good words for him, it would work wonders for Rithvik's image which was not that great, so to speak.

The professor asked me to come and meet him the next day in the staff meeting room. He mentioned that he had asked Rithvik and his key aides to come over to discuss the election campaign agenda and would like to get my inputs as well. I was so not interested but couldn't muster up the courage to say no. I decided to play along.

I went to the staff meeting room the next day, there was nobody in the room. I waited there for ten minutes and got up to leave. Just then Rithvik barged into the room. Our eyes met for a brief period. The professor walked in with two other female students, he apologized for being late and asked us to sit down. Rithvik sat next to me.
