Stand By Me Part 23

I was contemplating calling him when the phone rang. It was him. I was feeling very happy. I picked up the call.

He apologized, said he was in a party meeting. There was an awkward silence for a while.

"All good at home?", Rithvik asked.

"One of father's old friends had come calling after very long, had to stay", I said.

"Oh ok, that's fine", he replied.

"We are meeting tomorrow as agreed, right?", I asked.

"Well, unless you change your plans again", he retorted sheepishly.

"Good night", I said and hung up.

Damn, he was upset. I had to make up to him tomorrow.
